I'm Chrystal!
Tattoo Artist - Body Piercer - Shop Owner - Breathworker
Chrystal's Story
Chrystal spent most of her childhood and teenage years in her room, honing her skills in portrait drawing.
Her first job, aside from selling lemonade and painted rocks for 25 cents, was selling her handmade jewelry and custom drawings.
An entrepreneur at heart, art provided her with an escape as she faced challenges with her mental health. She would focus on her new skills for hours & hours a day.
In her junior year of school, Chrystal witnessed her mom get her first tattoo, an experience that sparked her to pursue tattooing; though it felt out of reach.

At the same time, she escaped the bullying from other girls, and began college early in her senior year of high school.
She explored various fields, including architecture, art history, and business, torn between following her passion and meeting others' expectations.
While juggling four college classes each semester and working part-time as a waitress, she also completed requirements for her last high school year, including a senior project.
She decided to pursue tattooing for her final high school requirement.
Chrystal was able to learn from Steph Winters from Inflicting Body Art.
She chose Steph because her portrait artistry is what Chrystal had been aspiring for.

After she got an A+ on her project, she asked the owner of the tattoo shop if she could officially apprentice under them. (she was doing all the jobs of an apprentice without the title, for that past year.)
For a time, Chrystal was the youngest licensed tattoo artist in Rhode Island.
Navigating the industry as a young woman was challenging, as female tattoo artists faced stigma and skepticism.
It was hard to accept it at first, but her struggles started making sense.
Because of the things she's endured, it's second nature for her to act quickly if necessary.
She knows the signs of fainting, she knows what to do if someone is having a seizure, & she knows how to help others in times of need.
It's funny how life comes full circle.

Through her journey, she has grown immensely and recognized that her childhood mental health struggles extended beyond anxiety.
After 13 years of strange & scary episodes, she eventually received a diagnosis of Temporal Lobe Epilepsy.
This was just a few months after opening her original location.
Later, in June of 2025, she was diagnosed with AuDHD.
